STANLEY 72-064 Double-Ended Open Jaw Spanner in Erode - 46x50mm Listing

What you are selecting — model, jaw pair and tool design

This is a fixed-size, double-open-end hand spanner, not an adjustable wrench, ratchet, impact accessory or preset torque wrench. Each open end provides access to opposing flats of a matching hexagonal fastener; it is useful when access around the nut prevents using a closed ring or socket. An open-jaw design does not encircle the complete fastener. Firm engagement, adequate clearance and appropriate force matter, especially on large fasteners.
The STANLEY 72-064 model identity is visible in the current manufacturer listing. The listing's 41×46mm jaw pair disagrees with the 46×50mm pair printed in the National PDP and widely published in current Indian retailer catalogues. Buyers purchasing by engineering bill of materials (BOM), maintenance part reference or nut measurement should have the seller confirm both the stamped tool number and jaw dimensions before payment or dispatch. Do not assume that adjacent models or differently named distributor variants are interchangeable.

Technical overview and verification limits

A cited seller describes a 350mm overall length; another retailer displays implausible 118mm and 0.01kg values. Those claims are not used as a definitive specification. Do not select the tool by a disputed overall length, generic standard number, surface-finish label, or estimated torque rating.

Where a large double-open-end spanner fits the work

Large equipment servicing and plant maintenance

For maintenance of large machines, pumps, supports, flanged assemblies and fabricated structures, technicians may need a fixed open jaw when hexagonal fasteners are accessible from the side but an enclosed tool cannot be positioned conveniently. Suitability is determined by the measured across-flats dimension, working clearance and the relevant engineering procedure. A 46×50mm listing alone does not establish what bolt thread designation is fitted in a particular installation.

Maintenance stores and project procurement

Maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) purchasers can identify this listing by STANLEY / 72-064 / proposed 46×50mm jaw pair and specify how many individual spanners are required. The supplier should confirm the model marking, true jaw openings and per-order selling quantity before a purchase order is finalized. This avoids mistakes when one marketplace offers a single spanner and another offers a two-piece bundle of the same described model.

Open-jaw selection compared with ring and adjustable tools

Choose an open-end tool when a side-entry approach is needed and both opposing flats of the fastener can be engaged securely. A ring spanner or compatible socket engages more of the head and may be preferable on very tight, damaged or high-load fittings when access permits. An adjustable wrench offers flexibility across sizes but requires careful jaw adjustment; it is not a substitute for a manufacturer-approved high-load procedure. Where the tightening specification calls for a controlled torque value, use appropriate calibrated torque equipment. This manual open-end spanner is not itself a calibrated torque tool.
Before working, clean the fastener, select the verified jaw opening, position the jaw fully across the flats, and inspect it for wear or damage. Avoid extension tubes, hammer strikes and off-axis force unless the actual manufacturer instructions expressly permit such use. Observe site safety rules and use the approved fastening method for critical joints.

Buy STANLEY 72-064 in Erode — price, quantity and delivery

Indus MegaMart's National Product Detail Page provides the current GST-inclusive product price and separate tax breakdown. The Erode page should display that same live price, sourced from the National PDP rather than independently maintained city text. At research time, the National PDP showed ₹1,889 including GST (₹1,601 plus ₹288 GST); that is a dated observation only, not a permanent offer.
The selling quantity attached to one Indus MegaMart checkout unit is not explicitly stated in the inspected PDP and should be confirmed before publication and ordering. A competitor's single-piece offer or two-piece multipack is not proof of Indus MegaMart's pack size. Confirm the exact number of pieces shown in the basket and invoice before comparing prices or submitting a bulk requisition.
Per Indus MegaMart's approved purchasing policy, orders and payments are accepted even if available stock is zero or lower than the ordered quantity. If stock is sufficient for the ordered quantity, delivery is within seven days. If quantity exceeds available stock, including when stock is zero, delivery is within 7–14 days. The live National PDP and Erode pincode checker should be used to verify serviceability and current commercial conditions. These are supply and delivery arrangements, not a claim that inventory is physically stored in Erode.

How to avoid ordering the wrong jaw sizes

For a plant job or scheduled maintenance purchase, provide your team with the actual measured wrench-across-flats dimensions, the required quantity, and any existing tool's photographed markings. Match them to the confirmed STANLEY 72-064 identity. The current manufacturer-site 41×46mm mismatch must be resolved against the physical tool or an authoritative revised STANLEY document before specifying 46×50mm in a technical purchase order. Check the latest SKU, exact supplied piece count, GST price, pincode availability and applicable return terms on the National Product Detail Page.

Frequently asked questions about STANLEY 72-064

1. Is STANLEY 72-064 a 46×50mm or 41×46mm spanner?

The current Indus MegaMart and several Indian retailer listings say 46×50mm, but STANLEY India's own current model page says 41×46mm. The mismatch is unresolved; verify product markings or obtain manufacturer confirmation before ordering by jaw size.

2. What does the 46×50mm designation measure?

It refers to the across-flats openings of the two open jaws, not to bolt thread diameter or a torque capacity. Only use the jaw that matches the actual fastener flats, once the shipped product size is verified.

3. Is the spanner suitable for controlled-torque tightening?

It is a manually operated open-end spanner, not a calibrated torque instrument. If the joint requires a specified tightening torque, follow the equipment manufacturer's tightening procedure with suitable calibrated tools.

4. Is this a single spanner or a pack of two?

The manufacturer's product page identifies one individual tool, and retailers sell this model in single and two-piece offers. Indus MegaMart's own checkout unit is not explicitly confirmed by the inspected page. Check basket quantity, sale unit and invoice before payment.

5. Can a Erode customer order when the website shows zero available stock?

Yes. Under Indus MegaMart's stated policy, orders and payments are accepted even at zero available stock. Delivery for zero-stock or insufficient-stock orders is within 7–14 days, subject to verifying the checkout and pincode details.

6. How is the GST-inclusive price shown?

The National PDP displays a GST-inclusive amount and a tax breakdown. The Erode page should use the same current National PDP price. Avoid comparing prices across sellers unless the pack quantity and tax basis match.

7. Does the tool have a warranty?

The official STANLEY India listing for model 72-064 mentions a one-year limited warranty. Confirm eligibility and terms on the purchased item and the seller's current warranty process.

8. Can 46mm and 50mm jaws be used on any large bolt?

No. They must match the fastener's across-flats dimensions, and the tool must fit properly with adequate working clearance. Thread diameter alone is not enough to identify the correct wrench size.
