Verified STANLEY 70-373E Specifications

The STANLEY description confirms the model and construction. For applications where the overall length, weight, dimensional tolerance or certified torque rating is contract-critical, obtain confirmation from the manufacturer or seller rather than assuming a measurement from a third-party listing.

When a 20 × 22 mm Double Open-End Spanner Is Useful

This model suits maintenance work where a technician needs access to two different metric cross-flat sizes without changing tools. The open jaws approach a nut or bolt head from the side, which can be helpful where there is insufficient room to place a closed ring over the fastener. Typical potential tasks include mechanical assemblies, accessible pump or machinery mounting fasteners, vehicle-workshop servicing and site-maintenance tool inventories—provided the actual fastener sizes are 20 mm or 22 mm.
The 20 × 22 mm marking refers to the across-flats dimensions of the fastener heads, not automatically to the nominal thread diameter. Check the measured nut or bolt-head size against the equipment drawing or service manual. The model is not a universal fit for 19 mm, 21 mm or 23 mm heads.

A practical selection check before ordering

Confirm that the work requires a 20 mm or 22 mm jaw, the open-end geometry can fully seat on the available flats, and the operation is suitable for an ordinary hand spanner. When a fastener is deeply recessed, badly rounded or requires a measured tightening torque, a correctly sized socket, ring spanner or calibrated torque wrench may be more suitable. Choose the tool based on actual access and job requirements rather than assuming every 20/22 mm assembly accepts the same wrench.

Grip, Surface Finish and Responsible Use

STANLEY identifies forged chrome-vanadium steel and a corrosion-resistant chrome finish for this model. To reduce slipping, engage the correct-size jaws fully on clean fastener flats before applying hand force. Avoid using a mismatched jaw, a pipe as an extension handle or hammer blows to increase leverage. An open-jaw spanner does not certify or measure tightening torque and is not a substitute for a specified torque-control tool.
For teams standardising their hand-tool drawers, a ten-piece pack of the same 70-373E size pairing can be allocated across multiple workstations or service kits. If your maintenance inventory requires several different size combinations rather than ten identical tools, review the broader spanners range instead of treating this pack as an assorted set.

Answers to Buying Questions

1. Does STANLEY 70-373E have both 20 mm and 22 mm ends?

Yes. Each 70-373E is one double open-end spanner with a 20 mm jaw and a 22 mm jaw. These are metric across-flats sizes for suitable hexagon fasteners.

2. Does the Indus MegaMart pack contain ten different sizes?

No. The listed sale unit contains ten identical STANLEY 70-373E spanners, each with the same 20 × 22 mm pairing. An assorted spanner set is a different purchase.

3. Is the displayed pack price before or after GST?

The primary listed price is GST-inclusive for the ten-piece pack. The National product page also shows a separate pre-GST and GST breakdown. Check the current totals there when ordering.

3. Can I buy only one STANLEY 70-373E spanner?

STANLEY defines 70-373E as an individual tool, but the current Indus MegaMart offer is a pack of ten. Do not assume a single-tool checkout option; confirm the seller's available selling units before placing the order.

4. Can a Ludhiana customer order when stock shows zero?

Yes. Indus MegaMart's ordering policy permits order placement and payment at zero available stock. When stock is zero, the stated delivery window is 7–14 days, subject to delivery serviceability and checkout confirmation.

5. What delivery time applies if the ordered quantity is in stock?

When the order quantity is at or below the available stock, the stated delivery window is within 7 days, subject to the actual order and Ludhiana PIN-code serviceability check.

6. Is the spanner suitable for all bolts with 20 mm or 22 mm threads?

No. The jaw measurements describe the hex fastener-head width across its flats, not the nominal thread size. Measure the head or consult the equipment specification first.

7. Is it better than a ring spanner for high-torque tightening?

An open-end jaw is valuable when side access is needed. A correctly sized ring or socket often provides more enclosed contact where access permits, and a calibrated torque wrench should be used whenever a tightening specification must be achieved and verified.

8. Does STANLEY provide a warranty?

STANLEY lists a one-year limited manufacturer warranty for model 70-373E. Coverage is governed by the manufacturer's terms; confirm the applicable claim process before purchase.

9. What is the length or rated torque of the 70-373E?

The manufacturer page does not publish an overall length or a certified torque capacity for this exact model. Where either is essential to a technical specification, request a confirmed manufacturer document instead of relying on conflicting reseller measurements or illustrative calculations.
