What Does the 30 mm Measurement Mean?

The 30 mm dimension is the nominal opening between the jaws. It should fit a clean, undamaged 30 mm across-flats external hexagonal head when correctly seated. It does not mean the bolt's thread diameter is 30 mm. Verify the fastener head, access angle and contact on the flats rather than assuming a bolt-thread designation or pipe diameter is interchangeable.

Why Use an Open-End Slogging Spanner?

An open-end slogging spanner offers side access where a ring tool cannot be lowered over a fitting or where surrounding geometry restricts a closed head. Its dedicated striking portion is designed for approved hammer-assisted operation, unlike a typical open-ended combination spanner. It may be considered in appropriate heavy-equipment maintenance and plant shutdown tasks where the fastener is accessible, and the site procedure permits the method.
This is not a calibrated torque-measuring tool. When a specified final tightening torque or an approved engineering sequence is mandatory, use the right controlled-torque equipment and procedure. Do not claim a precise torque capacity for STMT96936 unless supplied by the manufacturer.

Four Checks Before Selecting or Using This Tool

1. Jaw fit: Confirm a 30 mm external-hex fastener and full, secure engagement on its flats. Reject rounded fastener heads or spread jaws.
2. Working access: Decide whether side access justifies an open jaw. If a closed-end striking wrench can fit and the procedure favours more head engagement, consider that alternative.
3. Striking procedure: Use a striking tool only on its designated striking face, with a suitable hammer and only when the site's safe-work process allows. Do not hit an ordinary wrench, use a pipe extender, improvise leverage or strike a damaged tool.
4. Worksite protection: Inspect the wrench and hammer, keep hands and bystanders clear of the impact path, wear suitable eye/hand protection, and secure the workpiece before attempting the task.

Open-End Slogging vs Ring Slogging vs Standard Spanner

Option	When it may suit the job	Critical limitation
STMT96936 open-end slogging	Side access to a correct 30 mm head where approved striking use is required	Open jaws can slip if not fully seated or used on worn heads
Ring-end slogging spanner	Full access over head where surrounding enclosure is possible	May not fit when side-entry-only access is available
Standard 30 mm open-end spanner	Ordinary hand-controlled turning of accessible 30 mm hex heads	Do not hammer-strike a wrench that lacks a designated striking face

Explore STANLEY spanners if a different wrench profile or size is needed. Do not assume the older model 96-936-23 is an interchangeable replacement without a verified STANLEY cross-reference.

Ordering for Goa Industrial Buyers

For a Goa maintenance team or procurement buyer, submit STMT96936, required quantity, actual delivery pincode, GST billing details and the required work date. At the research snapshot, the product page displayed zero stock; the site's published 7–14-day excess-stock order condition should be confirmed against the specific order. Do not rely on generic 24–48-hour dispatch copy when the item shows zero available units.
For multi-unit requirements, contact Indus MegaMart for a quotation. Confirm final price, selling unit, tax, delivery and fulfilment before committing to a shutdown schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is STMT96936 a 30 mm spanner or a 30 mm bolt-thread tool?

It is a 30 mm open-jaw spanner, intended to fit a matching 30 mm across-flats external hexagonal head. It is not defined by the bolt's threaded diameter.

2. Can this spanner be struck with a hammer?

It belongs to the purpose-designed slogging/striking wrench category. Only strike its designated face using site-approved equipment and technique. Never use an ordinary open-end wrench as a striking wrench.

3. Can it measure the final tightening torque?

No. It is not a calibrated torque wrench. Use the approved torque-controlled method when the fastener has a specified final tightening torque.

4. Is STMT96936 the same as STANLEY 96-936-23?

No verified manufacturer interchangeability was established. They appear as distinct part numbers in the catalogue and seller research. Order by exact STMT96936 unless the manufacturer or seller provides a confirmed equivalence.

5. What is the price including GST?

On 31 October 2026, Indus MegaMart displayed ₹480 including 18% GST. The current selling price and selected unit must be verified before purchase.

6. Can I order while the product page shows zero stock?

The listing shows an Add to Cart button and states a 7–14-day delivery window if the ordered quantity exceeds available stock. Actual checkout acceptance and Goa pincode delivery were not tested; obtain order confirmation from the seller.

7. Can I request multiple pieces for a Goa plant or project?

You can submit a quantity enquiry using STMT96936, the required number of pieces, billing requirements and destination pincode. Stock, quote validity and schedule require seller confirmation.
