STANLEY STMT73389-8B T20 Torx Bit Socket in Erode

Confirm the T20 Profile, Manual Drive and Six-Piece Pack

T20 is the Torx profile size, not a 20mm measurement. The six-lobed male tip engages a matching T20 recess in a fastener head. The 1/2-inch measurement describes the square-drive interface to the hand tool, not the fastener's head diameter. Confirm the fastener profile, its size and the ratchet drive independently before ordering.
The seller's currently listed unit is six individual STMT73389-8B sockets of the same T20 size. The displayed GST-inclusive price is the total for that six-piece pack, while the on-page per-piece figure is a before-tax calculation, not a separately offered one-socket checkout option.
A competitor's one-socket price, six-piece pack total or minimum-order quantity must be compared only after normalizing units and GST. If you need a mixed T20/T25/T30 kit, this identical-size pack is not that assortment.

STANLEY STMT73389-8B Technical Specifications

55mm is the overall length of the socket, not the length of the exposed bit or a guarantee that the tip will reach 55mm down into a recess. The 22mm D1 dimension refers to the socket body, not the width of the Torx profile. Check the available space around the fastener and between adjacent fittings.
The STANLEY catalogue lists bit hardness and standards references, but does not establish an exact-model maximum tightening torque, an impact rating, or an independent certificate for your assembly.

Applications and Fitment Selection

This model is suitable for manual fastening and loosening of confirmed T20 internal-Torx screws, where there is room for its socket body and a compatible 1/2-inch hand-drive tool.
Possible situations include serviceable equipment covers, machinery brackets or mechanical subassemblies that actually specify T20. These are examples of conditional fit, not a claim that any particular car, industrial panel, electronic module or machine uses T20 screws.
Fully seat the bit into a clean, undamaged recess and keep the tool aligned. If the joint has a tightening specification, follow the equipment or fastener manufacturer's value using an appropriate calibrated manual torque wrench. Do not infer a universal safe torque from the S2 bit, HRC value, or 1/2-inch drive size.

T20 Torx vs T25, T27 and T30

Torx sizes are not interchangeable. T20 must match the fastener recess; a T25 or T30 bit should not be forced into a T20 screw. A tool that almost fits can damage the bit and round the recess. Choose adjacent sizes from their separate product listings only after confirming the fastener size.

Standard T20 vs Tamper-Resistant Security Torx

The supplied model is pictured and described as a standard solid-tip T20 Torx socket. A security Torx fastener with a centre pin typically requires a compatible hollow-tip security Torx tool.
No centre-hole security feature has been verified for STMT73389-8B; inspect the screw before buying.

T20 Torx vs Allen/Hex or External E-Torx

An Allen bit has a six-sided straight hexagonal profile, while this Torx bit has six lobes. An external E-Torx fastener requires a female external-Torx socket, not this male T20 bit. These profiles are not substitutes even if all are described informally as "star" or "socket" tools.

Why Overall Length Is Not Usable Reach

The catalogue lists 55mm overall length, including the socket body. It does not state the exact exposed tip projection.
If a T20 screw sits deep inside a narrow housing, verify bit reach, body clearance and hand-ratchet clearance rather than assuming this socket fits. Do not infer that another size's longer model is a T20 substitute.

Manual Ratchet vs Impact Wrench

STANLEY's model-specific catalogue specifies manual use. A square-drive connection does not make the tool impact-rated. Do not assume approval for a pneumatic impact wrench or powered driver. Select an expressly impact-rated accessory if powered-impact work is required.

Frequently Asked Questions About STMT73389-8B

1. Does T20 mean a 20mm socket opening?

No. T20 is a Torx six-lobe bit size designation, not a 20mm opening. The opposite connection is a 1/2-inch square drive for a compatible hand tool.

2. Is this socket for an external hexagonal nut?

No. STMT73389-8B has a male Torx bit for a T20 internal six-lobe screw recess. External hex nuts require appropriately sized female sockets, not this accessory.

3. Are the six pieces six different Torx sizes?

No. The Indus MegaMart selling unit is a pack of six identical STMT73389-8B T20 sockets, not an assorted T20–T60 tool set.

4. What are the exact size and weight specifications?

The STANLEY catalogue lists 55mm overall length, 22mm D1 socket-body dimension and approximately 52g per socket. The bit is specified as S2 steel with HRC 60 ± 2 hardness. Overall length is not exposed-tip projection.

5. Can I use this socket with a manual 1/2-inch torque wrench?

A compatible 1/2-inch square-drive manual torque wrench can connect to it if the assembly provides sufficient access. Follow the actual fastener or equipment manufacturer's specified tightening torque; none is universally stated for this socket.

6. Will it fit a security Torx screw with a centre pin?

A standard solid-tip T20 bit is not confirmed to fit centre-pin security Torx recesses. Such fasteners typically require a hollow-tip security-Torx accessory.

7. Is this model approved for an air-impact or powered-impact wrench?

The model-specific specification states manual use. An impact approval was not verified; choose an explicitly impact-rated accessory for powered-impact work.

8. Can I order for Erode when stock shows zero?

Yes. Indus MegaMart's policy accepts orders and payment at zero stock; such orders follow the stated 7–14-day delivery window. Check the pincode and checkout details for the destination.

9. Is the GST-inclusive displayed price for one socket?

No. Indus MegaMart prices the six-piece pack on its exact product page. Its listed per-piece calculation is before GST; a single-piece competitor listing is a different selling unit.
