STANLEY STMT89940-8B 15mm Ratcheting Spanner in Bihar - Pack of 10

Buy the Correct 15mm STANLEY Ratcheting Spanner

The 15 mm marking describes the across-flats size of the hexagonal fastener, not its threaded bolt diameter. Check the fastener head with an appropriate gauge or measuring tool before ordering. The manufacturer's individual-product listing describes one spanner; the Indus MegaMart purchase offer is for 10 pieces, not a mixed-size spanner set.

Key Features and Technical Specifications

The 192.2 mm length helps buyers assess handle reach and storage space. The ratcheting ring operates in 5° increments, useful where repeated full turns or frequent tool removal would be inconvenient. The full-polished finish also makes the hand tool easier to wipe clean after routine workshop work.

Where This 15mm Ratcheting Spanner Is Useful

For mechanics working around pumps, machinery housings, vehicle components or fabrication assemblies, a 15 mm ratcheting ring can speed up repetitive fastener rotation when the head is accessible, but the handle swing is restricted. The open end offers another way to engage a matching hex fastener where the ring cannot be placed over it.
Typical procurement situations include maintenance tool allocation, industrial repair work, mechanical installation and automotive servicing. Suitability depends on the actual 15 mm fastener-head dimension, surrounding clearance and required torque, rather than the name of an industry or machine alone.

Ratcheting Ring End Versus Ordinary Combination Spanner

Unlike the fixed ring on a conventional combination spanner, the ring end on the STMT89940-8B ratchets during repeated strokes, reducing the need to lift and re-seat the tool. A conventional spanner may still be adequate where access is open, use is infrequent or a ratcheting head does not fit around the fastener. A socket and ratchet may be a better choice when an appropriate socket can reach the fastener. Select based on clearance and application, not simply on the promise of faster work.

Fit, Handling and Application Limits

Check that the nut or bolt head measures 15 mm across flats and that the ratcheting ring can fully seat on an undamaged hexagonal profile. Do not substitute an approximately similar imperial size. The ratchet is a manual hand-tool mechanism, not an impact attachment or a calibrated torque instrument. Avoid striking the handle, using extension pipes to increase leverage or relying on the ratchet to deliver a specified tightening torque. For fasteners requiring controlled final torque, follow the equipment manufacturer's tightening instructions and use a suitable calibrated torque wrench.
Keep the mechanism clean after exposure to workshop dirt or grease, inspect the ring and open end for damage, and store the tool dry. If access is too restricted for the ring head to engage, choose a different tool geometry rather than forcing the fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does STMT89940-8B fit every bolt described as M15?

No. The 15 mm size denotes the distance across the flats of the fastener head. Thread designation and spanner size are different measurements. Confirm the actual head or nut size before ordering.

2. Is one STANLEY 15mm spanner or a pack of 10 being sold?

The current Indus MegaMart listing identifies a pack of 10 STMT89940-8B 15mm spanners. The manufacturer describes the individual tool as one piece. The offer is not a mixed-size set.

3. What does the 5° ratchet increment do?

It allows the ratcheting ring to advance with a short handle movement between engagement points, useful for repeated turning where access restricts the swing of a conventional spanner.

4. Can I order if the listing shows zero available units?

Yes. Indus MegaMart's ordering policy allows payment and order placement even at zero displayed stock. Orders exceeding available stock follow the 7–14-day delivery policy, subject to delivery-serviceability checks.

5. Can this tool replace a torque wrench or an impact wrench?

No. It is a manual ratcheting hand spanner. Use the prescribed calibrated tool for specified tightening torque and the appropriate rated equipment for impact applications.

6. Is a GST invoice issued?

Yes. Indus MegaMart's purchase invoices include the company's GST number. Check the displayed GST-inclusive pack total when placing the order.

7. Is delivery available to my Bihar location?

Enter your PIN code on the product page to check serviceability. Delivery timing depends on available stock relative to order quantity under the stated 7-day or 7–14-day policy.
