The manufacturer's product format is an individual spanner; the ten-piece quantity describes the seller's listed pack. For example, ordering three packs means 30 matching spanners, not three different-sized tools. Check the GST-inclusive total for the pack and the displayed quantity before completing payment. A price quoted for one loose spanner on another website should not be compared directly against the price of ten.

Exact Tool Specifications and Fit

The 16 mm and 17 mm measurements refer to the jaw openings, matched to the fastener's across-flats dimension. They do not indicate the tool's handle length, bolt diameter, thread size or a 16-piece/17-piece kit. The two-ended design gives technicians access to adjacent metric fastener sizes without changing tools, but it does not replace a full spanner assortment.

Where the Open-End Design Helps

An open jaw can approach a hex nut or bolt head from the side when a ring end cannot easily pass over the fastener. This can be useful near brackets, along exposed threaded rods and around accessible mechanical connections. The tool is intended for controlled manual fastening and loosening; it is not an impact accessory or a calibrated torque-measuring instrument.

Practical Applications for Bhopal Maintenance and Assembly Teams

• Plant maintenance and machinery upkeep: Keep matched-size manual spanners in technicians' maintenance kits for accessible 16 mm or 17 mm hex connections on guards, brackets, mounting hardware and serviceable assemblies, where the equipment manufacturer permits manual open-end tooling.
• Workshop and fabrication work: Support bench assembly, fixture adjustments and routine mechanical repair without requiring a closed-end tool to be passed over the fastener. Confirm that the surrounding space permits the full jaw to seat on the fastener flats before applying force.
• Facilities and fleet support: Stock identical tools for multiple workstations or technicians when the service requirement repeatedly calls for a 16 mm/17 mm open-ended wrench. For vehicle repair, use the vehicle manufacturer's specified tool and torque procedure for critical fasteners.
• Institutional purchase planning: A pack of ten is useful when standardising a known spanner size across technicians. If a purchase order requires one of each size rather than ten of the same size, choose an appropriate mixed-size spanner set instead.

How to Choose the Right Spanner for the Fastener

1. Measure the flats, not the thread. A 16 mm jaw is for a hex head or nut measuring 16 mm across its opposite flats; the other end fits 17 mm. The nominal bolt thread diameter alone does not determine spanner fit.
2. Check tool access. Allow enough clearance to engage the complete open jaw and re-position it. If the head is enclosed, deep-set or obstructed, a socket or ring-end spanner may be more appropriate.
3. Choose the engagement style for the task. An open-end tool allows side access, while a correctly sized ring end or socket surrounds more of the fastener and is often preferable for demanding tightening or for a head prone to rounding.
4. Follow torque requirements. A fixed open-end spanner does not measure torque or carry a verified torque rating for this SKU. Use a suitable calibrated torque tool and the equipment's specified procedure for torque-critical assemblies.
5. Avoid misuse. Do not strike the spanner, add a cheater pipe, use it with power or impact equipment, or force it onto a damaged or incorrectly sized fastener. Stop if the jaw slips or begins to spread.

Double Open-End Versus Combination or Ring Spanner

Choose this 70-371E when the requirement is specifically two open ends, 16 mm and 17 mm, and side-entry access matters. A combination spanner normally offers an open end and a ring end of the same nominal size; a double ring spanner offers closed engagement at both ends. Neither is interchangeable with this exact model for purchase-order matching. The selection should follow fastener geometry, required access and the equipment maker's maintenance procedure—not tool appearance alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About STANLEY 70-371E

1. What are the two sizes on STANLEY 70-371E?

One end has a 16 mm open jaw and the other a 17 mm open jaw. These are metric across-flats sizes for matching hex nuts and bolt heads.

2. Does the Indus MegaMart pack contain ten different spanner sizes?

No. The listed selling pack contains ten identical STANLEY 70-371E spanners, each with 16 mm and 17 mm open ends. It is not an assorted ten-piece size set.

3. What is the listed price for: one spanner or ten?

Indus MegaMart's displayed product price is for its pack of ten. Use the current GST-inclusive pack price on the National Product Page; other suppliers may quote individual-piece prices or require a separate minimum order.

4. Is STANLEY 70-371E made from chrome-vanadium steel?

Yes. The exact-model product information identifies a chrome-vanadium steel construction, with a matt finish. The two nominal jaw sizes are 16×17 mm.

5. How long is this spanner?

The listed overall length is 164.5 mm. Confirm the available operating clearance if the tool must be used inside a restricted machine enclosure.

6. Can I use it for a 16 mm or 17 mm bolt thread?

Not based on thread size alone. Select the opening according to the actual across-flats dimension of the nut or bolt head. A nominal 16 mm threaded bolt can have a head that requires a different wrench size.

7. Is this spanner suitable for impact use or torque-controlled tightening?

It is a manual open-end hand tool, not an impact socket or a torque wrench. For a specified tightening torque, use a suitable calibrated torque tool and follow the equipment manufacturer's procedure.

8. Can I order in Bhopal if the current stock shows zero?

Yes. Indus MegaMart's ordering policy accepts orders and payment at zero displayed stock; in that case the stated delivery window is 7–14 days, subject to the destination's serviceability and order confirmation.

9. How do I check delivery to my Bhopal address?

Open the exact STANLEY 70-371E product listing and enter your delivery PIN code. Review the available delivery information, order quantity and total before paying.

10. Can I obtain a GST invoice for business procurement?

Yes. The purchase invoice includes the seller's GST number. Review the GST-inclusive pack total and provide the appropriate billing details at checkout.
