STANLEY 71-641 Stillson Pipe Wrench 250mm (10 Inch) in Andhra Pradesh

Buy STANLEY 71-641 — Price, GST and Order Quantity

This listing is for model 71-641, the nominal 250mm / 10-inch Stillson pipe wrench. STANLEY describes the contents of its individual product as one pipe wrench. The manufacturer-branded trade chart also lists a six-piece catalogue MOQ; that is not automatically the number of pieces sold in an Indus MegaMart checkout line. Before paying, confirm the selected sale unit, quantity and GST-inclusive total in the order summary.
The Indus MegaMart product listing provides the current price and GST breakup, Add to Cart and a delivery-pincode field. For Andhra Pradesh site or maintenance purchases, enter the receiving pincode and review the order details rather than assuming stock or dispatch is based in Andhra Pradesh.

STANLEY 71-641 Technical Specifications

45mm is the maximum jaw opening, not a universal permitted pipe nominal bore. Pipe is often ordered by nominal size, while the actual outside diameter varies with the pipe standard. Check the outside diameter of the component to be gripped, any clearance needed for secure jaw engagement, and the working space around it. This model has no published torque-setting or torque-measuring capability in the cited STANLEY data.

Where a 10-Inch Stillson Wrench Fits the Job

The 71-641 is intended for tasks involving suitable round pipe surfaces, such as positioning or loosening threaded steel and galvanised pipe connections, provided the pipe and fitting manufacturer permits serrated-wrench engagement. Its 250mm handle offers an option where work is accessible but a longer 300mm or 350mm pipe wrench would obstruct surrounding fixtures.
For Andhra Pradesh maintenance teams, likely use cases include building-services plumbing repairs, workshop pipe assembly, equipment utility connections and access-controlled service areas. These are representative applications, not documented site installations or a guarantee that the tool fits every fitting. Choose by actual workpiece outside diameter, available swing clearance, surface finish and required assembly method.

How the Stillson Jaw Works

A Stillson-pattern wrench uses an adjustable hook jaw that grips more firmly as manual turning load engages its toothed jaws against a suitable round surface. Set the opening to allow the workpiece to seat securely, keep the wrench correctly aligned and pull steadily in the gripping direction. Reposition the wrench rather than forcing the jaws to slip. Keep the adjustment mechanism and teeth clear of debris.
The serrated gripping action can leave bite marks. For chrome-plated, polished, thin-walled, soft or finished pipes where surface protection is essential, use a non-marring tool recommended for that material. Avoid attempting to grip plastic fittings with sharp teeth unless the component manufacturer specifically permits it.

Choosing by Actual Pipe Diameter, Not Only '10 Inch'

The 10-inch designation describes the wrench's nominal tool length, not the diameter of pipe it can accommodate. This exact model's manufacturer chart specifies a 45mm maximum jaw opening. If the external gripping diameter is above that limit, choose a wrench with a verified larger opening. Even below 45mm, allow room for correct jaw seating, stable support of the pipe and safe hand movement.

71-641 Versus a Spanner or a Larger Pipe Wrench

A smooth-jaw adjustable spanner is generally the better tool for appropriate hexagonal nut flats, particularly when surface marking matters. The STANLEY 71-641 instead targets suitable round surfaces that need toothed pipe-wrench engagement. Do not choose it merely because an ordinary nut is difficult to loosen; the jaw geometry is different.
A longer Stillson wrench can give a different reach and leverage, but extra handle length does not prove a specific rated torque or guarantee suitability for a seized connection. When comparing STANLEY's neighbouring sizes, the manufacturer chart lists 71-642 at 300mm with 55mm jaw opening, and 71-643 at 350mm with 65mm opening. Those are different models; use the exact code in procurement documents.
The 71-641 is not a calibrated torque wrench, is not a cutting tool and is not certified here for live electrical work. Do not extend the handle with a tube or strike it with a hammer to increase force. Follow site safety procedures and shut down or depressurise systems before intervening where required.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the maximum jaw opening of the STANLEY 71-641?

STANLEY's model-specific catalogue chart specifies a 45mm maximum jaw opening. This is the jaw capacity, not the nominal diameter printed on a pipe. Check the pipe's actual outside diameter and available working clearance before using the wrench.

2. Is the STANLEY 71-641 made from steel or aluminium?

For this exact model, STANLEY specifies cast-aluminium construction and a forged hook jaw. It should not be described as an all-steel, drop-forged-steel-body wrench. The correct body material matters when checking procurement specifications.

3. Does 10 inch mean the wrench grips a 10-inch pipe?

No. Ten inches (250mm) refers to the nominal tool length. The published maximum jaw opening for model 71-641 is 45mm, and the suitability of any pipe also depends on its actual outside diameter and secure jaw engagement.

4. Is one order quantity a six-piece pack?

Not necessarily. STANLEY lists one pipe wrench as the individual product contents and separately shows six pieces as a catalogue MOQ. Check the number of tools and sale unit displayed in the Indus MegaMart checkout; do not infer a six-pack from the manufacturer chart.

5. Can this Stillson wrench be used on chrome-plated or plastic pipes?

Its gripping teeth can scratch, indent or deform sensitive surfaces. For decorative chrome, softer materials or plastic components, choose a suitable non-marring tool or follow the component manufacturer's instructions rather than assuming this wrench is safe for the finish.

6. Does STANLEY 71-641 have a specified tightening torque?

No calibrated torque setting or model-specific tightening-torque rating is supplied in the verified product specifications. The wrench grips and turns suitable pipes manually; it should not be used as a torque-measuring device.

7. Can an order be placed if Indus MegaMart shows zero stock?

Yes. Under Indus MegaMart's stated order policy, ordering and payment remain possible at zero available stock. Its stated delivery window for zero-stock orders is 7–14 days, subject to checking the receiving pincode and final order details.

8. How do I check GST and delivery details for Andhra Pradesh?

Open the exact STANLEY 71-641 listing, check the live product price and GST breakup, select the correct tool quantity and enter your Andhra Pradesh delivery pincode. The company's GST number is included on the generated purchase invoice.
